About the artist

Creating has always been a big part of my life. I love trying new things, working with my hands, and seeing where an idea takes me.

After my cancer journey, the effects of raditation treatment left my skin extremely dry and sensitive. I started making soap because I needed something gentle for my own skin. What began as a necessity for myself turned into something I wanted to share with others.

From there, my creativity just kept growing. I paint, make books, work with textiles, knit, and create all kinds of things by hand. I don't really like to be limited to just one medium. I enjoy the process of learning something new and making something that feels personal.

Travel is another big inspiration for me. I love the colors, textures, people, and little moments I see along the way. I often bring those memories back to my studio and they find their way into my work.

For me, making things is about more than just creating something pretty. It's about finding joy, staying curious, and continuing to create no matter what life puts in front of you.

Everything in my studio is made with my hands, my heart, extreme gratitude, and a lot of love.

Karen

born from a joy of crafting

Creating from the heart has always been at the forefront of Karen's life. Whether it's making hand goods or art, she has spent much of her life creating from necessity in a beautiful way. Her products have the power to enrich everyday life and tell meaningful stories.

Created for healing

Karen's journey into soap making began after treatment for stage three breast cancer left her skin dry, sensitive, and in need of gentle care. After struggling to find products that worked for her, she began researching ingredients, became certified in soap making, and continued creating her own handmade soaps. What started as a personal solution quickly became a passion, inspired by the nourishing qualities of natural oils, rich butters, and thoughtfully chosen ingredients.

Crafted with Intention

Today, Karen creates small-batch soaps, hand-bound books, greeting cards, and original artwork from her studio. Every piece is made slowly and intentionally, with a deep respect for craftsmanship and the belief that handmade objects should be both beautiful and meaningful. Her work is an invitation to slow down, embrace creativity, and find beauty in the everyday.
This is not just what she creates - it's how she moves through the world.
